A hospital southeast of Paris has been targeted by a cyber attack, causing widespread disruption to its services. Nurses are being forced to file data by hand due to the disruption.
French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal has acknowledged that several French state bodies have been hit with cyber attacks of unprecedented intensity.
The hospital, located in Versailles, has had to cancel operations and transfer some patients as a result of the attack. It is reported that the hackers have lowered their ransom demands, but the hospital remains paralyzed.
In a separate incident, it has been revealed that the personal data of one in two French citizens was stolen in a major cybersecurity breach, making it the largest-ever breach of its kind in France.
